In Ekathimerini an article that the Greek police arrested seven people in Grevena, northern Greece.
The seven suspects, aged between 28 and 61, had metal detectors and digging equipment in two trucks. The suspects are believed to have been searching for a cache of gold sovereigns believed to have been buried in the area.
According to the Greek law it is forbidden for citizens to carry out excavations without a license.
